Running Queries

Because queries are ubiquitous in the system, they can be accessed and run from many locations.

  • Query CenterClosedThis area in the Queries app lists all queries in your system. There are tabs to group by "Bookmarked Queries," "All Queries," and "System Queries." An additional "Archived Queries" tab is visible to Administrators. Click Run next to any query in this area to run it.

  • Query BuilderClosedLocated in the Queries app. Choose an existing query from the Load Query drop-down or build your own. Click Run at the bottom of the query builder to run the query.

  • System Apps > QueriesClosed Most applications in the system have a designated "Queries" section. These areas are similar to the Query Center, but limit the options to queries with the data type of the selected app. Click Run next to any query to run it. (For example, the Customers App > Queries area.)

  • Built-In QueriesClosedSome queries are critical for system function and are built-in. For example, the Customers App > Organizations loads the "Organization Search" query. For these, enter desired criteria and click Search to run. Other built-in queries will automatically select criteria when running. For example, from an Event record, clicking the Actions menu and then List Registrants will run the "List of Active Event Registrants" query for that particular event.

  • Snapshot CenterClosed"Snapshotted" queries query data from one bookmarked moment in time, which can run faster than queries that pull live results when working with large amounts of data. Snapshots can be run from the Queries App > Snapshot Center by clicking View.

The video below describes areas from which a query can be run and how to run a query.
